The Actualization of Islamic Values in the Character Formation of Students at Darul Amanah Islamic Boarding School

Abstract

This study aims to critically describe the character building of santri (students) at Pondok Pesantren Darul Amanah to find answers to the issues of how the actualization of Islamic values occurs in the character formation of santri at Pondok Pesantren Darul Amanah and how effective this character building process is. This is a field research using a qualitative approach, specifically a socio-anthropological perspective. The results show that the character building process at Pondok Pesantren Darul Amanah is evident in both planning and implementation. Education levels for santri are divided into two stages: Aliyah and Tsanawiyah. The actualization of Islamic values at the pesantren is organized into several programs, including daily, weekly, monthly, and annual activities. The Islamic values actualized include divine values (Ilahiyah), such as ubudiyah (devotion) and tauhid (the concept of monotheism). Meanwhile, humanistic (Insaniyah) values include discipline, simplicity, honesty, and deliberation. This actualization process is incorporated into both learning activities and daily routines.
